In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday we played with oobleck! It may be the easiest project we've ever made.... water + cornstarch (recipe below). And teaching the kids to say oobleck was half the fun!
Ok, so it looks like glue and super liquidy but when you pick it up it feels solid. Super cool. The kids looked at me like I discovered another planet. Cool points for me today.
Ella thought it would be fun to taste test it. Judging by her reaction, I don't think it's too tasty. Ha.
Oobleck Recipe
1 1/2 cups cornstarch
1 cup water
Optional: food coloring
Stir ingredients together in a bowl. I gave each of the kids a baking pan and small toys. A big plastic bowl and measuring spoons would be fun for the littler ones. Our oobleck got more solid as we played with it. We added maybe a tablespoon of water to liquefy it again.
